Good news for Jurien Bay and surrounding areas that RSL Care WA have received funding of $2.564 million which will contribute to the upgrade of a day centre and overnight respite lodge to enable the delivery of a 24/7 respite service.
The grant is part of the Southern Inland Health Initiative and made possible by the Liberal National Government’s Royalties for Regions program, and will assist older people living in the area to remain independent, involved and contributing members in their communities.
Mr Davidson said “RSL Care WA plan to offer overnight and day care respite services meaning that for the first time people in this region will have access to comprehensive care as they grow older.”
“Most importantly this project will allow residents in the Turquoise coast region and surrounding localities to remain living in a place that they love, surrounded by people that they love in a supportive environment.”
The Shire is committed to becoming more age-friendly and to advocating for funding, so this is exciting news for our communities.
